Welcome to 2013! I am excited for a new year of furry friends to photograph. Now say that fast five times. I am also excited that a new year means a new start to our weekly photo group, 52 Project. If you missed the first post when I started participating last year let me tell you a little about the group. It’s made up of photographers who specialize in pet photography all over the world. Right now in the group to start the year there are pet photographers from three countries on two continents participating. We are assigned a topic for the week and left to our own devices to interpret and photograph the topic. New posts are available on Fridays and each post links to the next photographer in the group. In 2012 this group was a motivation for me to get out and shoot every week, even if it was with my own dogs. In 2013, I hope to step outside my comfort zone and use a variety of pet models for the posts. I hope you’ll stick around to see what’s coming as you never know what’s around the next corner!
For week 1 our assignment was family. To document our entire family, not just furry, for our readers and each other to see. Since I am in the photos you can deduce I did not take the photos. Thanks to Whitney for taking some time out of the New Year’s Eve party to snap these shots. Since there was a party in progress with 9 house guests Ellie and Blue were less than cooperative. First is the best family shot we got and second is an outtake (which there were a lot of!) Happy New Year from the Coyles – Tim, Kelly, Ellie and Blue.
Click around to see what other families are part of this crazy blog circle starting with Iowa and Illinois Pet Photographer, Mary Beth Arnold. Mark your calendar and stop by next Friday for a new post!
